Bob Bushnell Bio:
Bob Bushnell is a retired aerospace and defense executive with more than 40 years of domestic and international experience. Today, he consults in the A&D sector and serves as an adjunct professor of international business in ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ’s Executive MBA program. He is also a member of the Advisory Council for CLU’s School of Management.
Bob retired in March 2023 as Vice President of Requirements and Capabilities for Raytheon’s $3.5B Global Spectrum Dominance (GSD) strategic business unit within the Intelligence and Space division. GSD develops advanced airborne radars for platforms such as the F-15, F/A-18, B-2, B-52, U-2, Global Hawk, and other Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) special mission aircraft. The business also delivers Family of Systems solutions, electronic warfare systems, high-energy lasers, resilient navigation products, and low-band radar solutions. In his role, Bob was responsible for shaping the strategic direction, driving growth, and achieving new business objectives, reporting directly to the President of GSD.
Before rejoining Raytheon, Bob was Group Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for L3Harris’ Integrated Sensor Systems (ISS) Sector. Earlier in his career, he spent 25 years with Hughes Aircraft Company and Raytheon (after its acquisition of Hughes), where he received multiple awards for Business Development Excellence—the company’s highest recognition in the field. He also held an executive leadership role at Northrop Grumman’s Navigation Systems business (formerly Litton Industries).
Throughout his career, Bob has led sales of highly complex military and commercial systems in some of the world’s most challenging markets, including the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. He has successfully negotiated a wide range of international transactions—from ISR special mission aircraft and telecommunications satellites to joint ventures and strategic alliances—several valued at over $1 billion. While at Hughes, he also played a key role in launching DirecTV, one of the most successful direct-to-home satellite television services.
Bob holds a BS from Pepperdine University and an MBA from ÃÛÑ¿ÊÓƵ, where in 2012 he was recognized as one of the School of Management’s top 25 distinguished MBA graduates. He has also completed graduate management programs at the University of Southern California and the University of Michigan.
With a diplomatic/foreign service background, Bob is multilingual and brings extensive cross-cultural experience.
