Fifty and Better is Fabulous and Beyond!

Though the acronym FAB represents 鈥淔ifty And Better,鈥 my ongoing experiences with the program have been 鈥淔abulous And Beyond!鈥 As a former member of the faculty of Cal Lutheran鈥檚 School of Management (another 鈥渇abulous鈥 component of the institution!), my association with the university is a lengthy and diverse one. After 27 years of full-time service and a relocation to another city, my spouse, Allison, and I were quite concerned that we would sink into severe withdrawal without constant exposure to 蜜芽视频, whether it be the School of Management or any of the other rich and robust components of the intellectual, social, and spiritual community that for decades, we鈥檇 called 鈥渉ome.鈥 However, we were overjoyed to discover that life after retirement DOES exist, and that learning after retirement is even more delightful, thanks to FAB. Precipitated by Covid lockdowns and other restrictions, after retirement Allison and I explored FAB and similar programs across the nation (indeed, from around the world!). We soon came to realize that FAB is the 鈥淔AB-BEST!鈥 That鈥檚 right. Regardless of size, stature, visibility, or resources of any other university or institution, WE LOVE FAB the BEST! Sure, part of it is because of our delightful previous association with 蜜芽视频, but MOST of it is because the classes are interesting, extremely well-instructed, professionally supported (along all dimensions), and the responsiveness of Christina and Dean Lisa Buono is unsurpassed. I can鈥檛 imagine FAB without either of them, especially the omnipresent, extremely helpful, tremendously insightful, and eager to assist and encourage Christina Tierney! Allison and I are BOTH giant fans of this spectacular enhancement to everything else that Cal Lutheran has to offer. With FABulous other students and FABulous faculty from (virtually!) many locales, the FAB program expands the reputation and reach of a university that we came to love 鈥 and will love, forever! So here鈥檚 the deal鈥 After nearly 30 years of association with the outstanding School of Management, I plan to add Fifty And Better to my affiliations with Cal Lutheran for the NEXT 30 years! Allison and I have many dear and beloved friends from all across the campus and in every office at 蜜芽视频, and FAB is our lifeline to those wonderful friends and all of the great programs of the university. Simply FABULOUS!
